The National Bureau of Statistics of China released the main data on the total retail sales of consumer goods in June. From January to June, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 2.3596 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%. In June alone, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 4073.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.0% and a month on month decrease of 0.12%.
By consumption type, the total retail sales of furniture from January to June amounted to 72.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. The total retail sales of construction and decoration materials amounted to 78.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.2%; In June, the total retail sales of furniture reached 14.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.1%. The total retail sales of construction and decoration materials amounted to 15.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 4.4%.
By comparison, the total retail sales of construction and decoration materials in the first half of the year did not perform well. The total retail sales of construction and decoration materials also reached its lowest point in April, and remained basically the same in May and April. The industry market rebounded in June. Compared with last year, the total retail sales of construction and decoration materials in the entire second quarter decreased, with an average decline of 4.5%.
