Germany: Growth in beech sawn timber exports
In the first six months of 2024, around 200,000 m3 of sawn beech wood was exported, 12% more than in the same period of the previous year. The downward trend that has dominated the market since 2018 thus appears to have been overcome.
Germany: Exports of beech logs continue to increase
German exports of beech logs increased by 11% to 350,000 cubic metres between January and June 2024 compared to the same period in the previous year. China retains its market position as the most important customer with an increase of 27% to 200,000 cubic metres.
Germany: Situation of particleboard manufacturers significantly brighter
The economic situation for German particleboard manufacturers improved significantly in August. The current business situation is viewed ambivalently. A majority of two thirds rate current business as good, the remaining third as poor.
